Fitness trackers gaining popularity over smartwatches nowadays because they are much cheaper and provides new health information whether it’s sleep duration, heart rate, or sweat rate which is not available in most smartphones and smartwatches. We will be reviewing the newest trends in the wearable fitness trackers world.

Fitbit Upgrading Charge

Fitbit released charge 3, pitting Fitbit’s Charge 3 vs Charge 2 will probably have the Charge 3 come out on top. Fitbit increased the screen size over 40% for more interaction with notifications, changed their screen to a complete touch screen compared to the previous limited touch screen on Charge 2, and they also improved their core tracking for all activities, without a lot of manual work from the user’s end.

Charge 3 introduced flexibility and independence when it comes to controlling the data you are tracking; the battery upgrade was also a must due to the extra added functionalities. Overall the Charge 3 shows noticeable improvement and added functionality over the Charge 2 but no built-in GPS yet.

Garmin Vivosmart 4

Garmin is known to be a high-end brand with devices in many professional fields of sports, most of its devices are catered toward the professional athletes. Garmin’s Vivosmart 4 is proof that you don’t have to be a renowned athlete to afford and enjoy their everyday-use fitness trackers.

Vivosmart 4 comes loaded with functionalities to aid you in becoming more active, some of them use specific and rare sensors;a blood oxygen sensor, that can closely estimate the oxygen saturation in the blood; heart rate sensor, which actively calculates heart rate; body battery monitoring, which is one of their famous features that can estimate if you are ready to be active or need more rest. Its price is still considered a bit high compared to budget fitness trackers and its screen is a bit too small.

Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro

Considered by many to be one of the top fitness trackers around. The pro version didn’t change anything in the design, battery, or the processor of the Fit 2. Gear Fit 2 Pro comes pre-installed with fitness apps. The main difference is that Samsung made it more durable and also swimming friendly with an incredible threshold of sustaining high water pressure.

Also, a famous feature that is incorporated in the Gear Fit 2 Pro is that it can act as a standalone music player with its Spotify so you wouldn’t have to be carrying other devices around with you for music when you work out and its built-in GPS. Its price compared to Fit 2 is considered high and makes it a pricey choice without a lot of added features to make up for it.
